Description
A bold expression of Italian radical design — tensioned canvas, exposed tubular steel frame, and that unmistakable cylindrical bolster. Minimal structure. Maximum attitude.
Where art, architecture, and anti-design meet.
The AEO Chair was designed in 1971 by Paolo Deganello for Archizoom Associati and produced by Cassina. A defining icon of the Italian Radical Design movement, the AEO reduces the armchair to its essential gesture: a tensioned canvas sling stretched over an exposed tubular structure, finished with a bold cylindrical headrest.
Both sculptural and confrontational, it challenges conventional comfort and domestic aesthetics — a collectible statement piece where furniture becomes manifesto.
