Description

ICONIC ICF Aluminum Group Chairs by Charles & Ray Eames (1958)

The ICF Aluminum Chair is a landmark in 20th-century furniture design. Originally conceived in 1958 by Charles and Ray Eames for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA), this chair marked a departure from the traditional seat shell. Instead, the Eameses stretched a panel of fabric or leather between two aluminium side members—creating a seat that is both taut and elastic. The result is an exceptionally comfortable chair that conforms to the sitter’s body, even without extensive upholstery.

We currently have over 50 Aluminum Group chairs in stock from Herman Miller & ICF, featuring:

  • Upholstery options: Black and beige Naugahyde, red and blue fabric

  • Base types: Casters or glides available

As pre-owned pieces, each chair may show signs of wear consistent with age and use, contributing to their character and vintage appeal.

Prices range from $950 to $1,750, depending on condition, finish, and configuration.
